WW1 Centenary

The Reidvale Neighbourhood Centre is planning to hold an exhibition to Commemorate 100 Years since the end of the 1st World War. The intention is to exhibit old photographs & Memorabilia of how Dennistoun
and the surrounding areas of Glasgow looked around the time of the First World War.
If you have any old Documents, Memorabilia , Family Medals Etc. (on loan) please Contact Bobby, Jane, Vicky or Richard at Reidvale Centre on 0141 554 5315

Thomas Christie Comrie - Lance Corporal 37088 - Highland Light Infantry 15th Batt.
Thomas, born 1893 in Kilsyth, son of Matthew and Maggie, brother of Peter, Grace, William, Jean and Agnes, resided at Deacon's Road, Kilsyth, according to the 1901 Scottish Census. He later resided in Dennistoun, Glasgow. Thomas married, Margaret Smith McGill, 27th March 1914 a Greyfield Street, Glasgow.
Private Comrie enlisted at Glasgow with the Highland Light Infantry 15th Battalion and was part of 14th Brigade, 32nd Division. He died of wounds 3rd June 1918.
Thomas is buried in Bac-Du-Sud British Cemetery, France, Reference I.E.16 and commemorated on Kilsyth War Memorial.
