Cubie Street Sorting Office Closure Campaign

Royal Mail plan to close the Cubie Street sorting office in January. From that point people wishing to collect items that could not be delivered while they were out will have to travel to new premises in Cambuslang. There is no direct bus service from Dennistoun, and the nearest bus stop to the new sorting office is roughly twenty minutes walk through an industrial estate. Royal Mail's response to councillors, claims plans "considering relocating" are in "the very early stages", yet postmen were told two months ago that the move was going ahead.

Dennistoun Community Council has joined with neighbouring community councils and elected officials attempting to stop the closure of a community asset. Continued on forum >>
