School starters

My daughter is due to start school in August and would like to know what school we should be going to. Are Golfhill primary and Alexandra parade primary school both non-denominational or is one the catholic school.

Both are non-denominational. St Denis's is the local catholic primary. Alexandra Parade is the better having had a good HMI recently but you should contact the schools to gofor a visit before deciding..

Both are non denominational schools. St Denis is not.

You will be able to find out which school is your catchment school via the Glasgow City Council Website. However, you can make a placement request if you so wish.

I would recommend visiting the schools to see which would suit your needs.

My kids go to Golfhill and the reason I chose this is because it's single primary classes eg there's only one p1, p2, p3. Very intimate and an eco school. Probably best to visit though.

Golfhill Primary is now a campus along with the nursery and high school. It has a new head teacher who was headhunted for the post and she is doing great things with the school. Plus it has smaller class sizes than the Parade School.

Definitely visit all of them.
