Telephone No for new delivery office

Ranter posted on the 28/01/2013 6:17:15 PM

Does anyone know the telephone number for the new delivery office in Fullarton Drive. Got a card through door to say they'd taken my parcel down to Cubie Street. Went there on last day (Saturday, 26th) to be told that it wasn't there and they would investigate and call me back. Of course so far no one has (give them their due though it's only Monday). Used my tracking number online and my parcel is being sent back to the seller. Is this the state of things to come????

Well im still waiting on a parcel - I dont even know the proper name for the sorting office so not sure which one it is. When googling, its just coming up with Post Offices so I havent got a clue where I can contact to chase up this parcel. Its a total joke.

Hi there

I called the number given on the leaflet put through our letterboxes about Fullarton Drive. They told me that it's better to call them and that no number is being given out at present for Fullarton Drive as they are too busy. Here it is: 08456 011399. The chap managed to sort it out for me.

Good luck to anyone who has to use it!!

See I haven't even had anything through the door advising it was closing - I only heard about it through here. Thanks for the number though, will give it a call.

Yep this is my second sunny Saturday in a row I will spend waiting in on the same parcel. I don't drive so can't go collect. Grrr.

Went to collect an undelivered item at 5.30pm on Friday. There was a queue of 15 people waiting in front of two hatches. Of those people queueing ahead of me, there were three instances of people who went away without what they came in for.

The telephone was ringing, unanswered, throughout my time spent waiting.

Thankfully I was able to leave with the item I was due to collect. But as I left, the queue was still fifteen people long.

Does the money spent building this new facility mean that staffing shortages will be an inevitability?

I hope not. For more than one reason: Cubie Street could hardly claim to provide ideal queueing conditions, but the replacement at Fullarton Drive has it's own nondescript and soul-sapping ambience that Cubie Street would never be able to match. A terrible place to spend time in, and no mistaking.

Fortunately I have access to a car, but the round trip still took nearly an hour, all told. Without a car you'd probably be advised to take the day off to accommodate the specific trip there and back. And specific is likely to be the nature of the journey - Fullarton Drive's location means it isn't on the way to anywhere useful in the way that Cubie Street could be said to be.

That the Royal Mail has managed to keep a straight face whilst planning this change on the quiet, without any public consultation, and then sell it to us as an improvement to the service is beyond my understanding.

Progress, eh?

Im still not getting mail regularly. Maybe once a week, in a single delivery.

Its got to the point that if a company sends me things by royal mail, and it goes for redelivery, I just instruct it to be returned, and let the company know that unless they can offer an alternative to RM I cant commit to buying from them.

The new service is pathetic. Fair enough RM offer this 'redelivery' service, but for the same reason that I wasn't able to accept the mail on a Monday, I can't for the rest of the week (most people work 9-5).

I also grudge waiting in on a Saturday for some daft thing I have bought online to come. It can take up to 2.30pm for the postie to come on a Saturday which is a complete waste of a day off. I certainly never really minded a quick walk down to the Bridgeton office for mail but that new cambuslang depot is absolutely horrendous to get to.

I asked the guy at the new office why I couldn't just get my things delivered to the Duke St post office. He went on a big rant and was saying its £1.50 and its a different company etc.

Personally I couldn't care who owns what, but the mail service in Dennistoun (when it comes) is an utter utter disgrace.

I agree. The service just isn't good enough.

I just called this number 0141 646 6004 and spoke to David who used to work in Cubie Street. he is the best staff member to talk to and always sorts out my RM problems quickly, efficiently and without fuss. Great service from him.

today has taken the biscuit. I got a red card to collect something through the door. However, it says they tried to deliver somethign on the 1st but couldnt get into the close. They subsequently tried to deliver the red card on the 3rd and 4th but couldnt get in even to leave the card.

They got in with the card today, but it will still be the 8th before I can get this delivered...

Aaaaaaargh....
