Well the GHA have put signs up saying the new flats will be complete this summer. Does anyone know what they are planning on doing with the pool. Its been half demolished for over a year now. Surely theyre not leaving it like that?

I spent many happy hours at the Whitevale St pool as a young boy, but I think the Steamie was on Bluvale St.

Rive thats what I had imagined might happened as the front in really quite nice and once cleaned up will make an attractive building. I just hope its something thats done soon as its a total eyesore at the moment.

What was the mens pool had to be demolished on an emergency basis as it suddenly became very unsound and was about to collapse any day due to the roof being open to the weather for a long period. The buiding is B listed although it is unclear why i.e. due to the frontage, building type or internal apartments. It will probably be renovated into offices with the frontage retained.

Fair amount of info on the Historic Scotland, Buildings at risk website -www.buildingsatrisk.org.uk/ref_no/2716. Similar on Derelict Glasgow -www.derelictglasgow.co.uk/derelict.whitevale.baths.html

Yep that's the one im talking about. I just assumed the gha were doing something with it as it was half demolished at exactly the same time as the new flats started being built. My neighbour said she heard it was going to be offices . I'm just concerned as its yet another thing that's going to make it hard to sell my flat.

I was a bit confused by your posting when I first read it - for clarification - your are talking about the old whitevale baths and steamie down at Whitevale Street (off Duke Street but nearer the Gallowgate). I think this building is listed and there were proposals some years ago but not sure what's currently happening. Do you know who owns the building? Not sure GHA own it.
