Just came across this page, was born in Dennistoun in 1960,in the tenements in Plant st,may have only stayed there until I was 5 but the memories of those yrs are so vivid and great. My best pal's family were Italian and owned the cafe in duke st next to where the pelican crossing was across from the shops just before you go under the bridge to parkhead, many a happy day sitting in there, also remember the stairhead toilets in the tenements.

Sorry Frank. Not me--although my Dad did play football for a team around the 1940's. He lived in Carntyne though, but for all I know it may have been for a team in Dennistoun.

Hello Michael

Some of my ancestors lived in Plant St (51)---way before your time. I'd be interested to know when the Plant St tenements came down. I passed that area in the mid 60's on my way to work and I don't recall anything other than waste ground there at that time. Of course, that might be because I had no interest in family history at that time.
