New Bibis

Hi, am new to this forum but now returning as finding it very helpful. However my first question is understanding this thread.....is this an old thread? It seems to be logged as recent but conversation/message details suggest last year...?
Anyway, keen to know if it went ahead! If it was put on the back burner, I would love to suggest prospective small business owners looking at opening up a wine bar or similar eating places to Bibi's etc up on Alexandra Parade- no more chippies please! Celinos is FAB- do we have someone to give it a run for the money....? I hope so!

No it didn't. Such a shame. The previous thread is rather long but if you scroll down the bottom you'll find the latest posts. We really could do with a decent pub or a bit of variety when it comes to eating!!!

Anyone remember Gerry's on Whitehall Street? Gerry and Maria had the mini market and they were a lovely Italian couple whom I had the pleasure of working for in the evenings whilst at Whitehall school. Maria used to grill square sausage and put garlic salt on them and have them ready in a roll for me for my tea! Simply amazing! Wonder where they are now? They had a young daughter and used to live up off the parade.

380 Duke Street (aka mills bar) has a current planning application for use as a restaurant. The application has been made by the guy who owns ESCA in Albion Street, merchant city. Great restaurant and great to see that business are seeing Duke Street as an investment! Bibis would be also fab and I'd gladly stay local for a meal out rather than heading into town.

Dont see why esca will obtain planning permission when bibi was refused, as it wasnt conducive to the regeneration of the area, according to the planning committee.
