Food bank opening

dear all
Thought i should add that there is a food bank opening on Whitehill St at the Everlasting Arms church. The aim is to provide non-perishable food to those that need it.
This will open every saturday 2-4pm at the everlasting arms church 14 whitehill st. Starting on the 5th october.
We are seeking donations of food (can be given 7.30-9 wedensday and 10-2pm on sundays) and wanting to spread the word to get those who want to come to know about it.

The times of the food bank have now increased to be 1pm-4pm (first saturday of the month).

I was at the food bank this afternoon(Sat) I was made very welcome and Karen offered me tea. I just want to thank everyone involved in this wonderful project and also to say that my elderly neighbour was absolutely delighted with the donated foods I gave her from Everlasting church.

Hi Craig, My name is Kristen Wood and I am a third year media student studying in Glasgow. Part of one of my modules this semester is to report weekly on my local area and things that are happening. I've just noticed this food bank opening and thought it would be a great place to start. Do you think it would be possible to meet up either on Saturday or next week sometime for a wee chat about it? no particular foods that are best. Just whatever you could donate would be perfect.
We would really really appreciate any donations. We are hoping this will be really successful.
Even if you are a little tentative about coming into the church area to donate you could text/call me and i can meet you outside :) 07981122335

Are there any particular foods that would be best to donate?
(thinking tuna, baked beans etc?)
