Need gas cooker installed

Hi you all,
Does anyone know of a suitably qualified person who would be able to disconnect an old and install a new gas cooker for me?

get someone from scottish gas, i know they are expensive, but at least your getting someone you know is certified. Â I didnt i got someone from the yellow pages, Â who i trusted, i never asked to see his certificate, anyway the job was done, but after he left and a couple of days later i thought i could smell gas, i thought it was my imagination but to be on the safe side, i called the number for emergency gas escape, Scottish Power were out within the hour and confirmed the gas escape, the guy that had originally did the job, had botched it and hadnt done the job properly, the scottish power guy kindly rectified it, he didnt have to, he couldve just switched my gas off till i found someone to rectify it, so please be carefuly who you get and ask to see certificates etc, anyone can say they can fit your gas cooker and if you are not qualified in that area its down to trust. The expense is worth it.

Just to clarify, Gary Thom who I mentioned above is Gas Safe Registered. Denny Lady, I hope you contacted Gas Safe to report your cowboy?

Best bet for anyone else looking for a gas engineer is to check the gas safe web site input your post code and you will find lists of suitably qualified business's.
The law is anybody that works on gas has to be Gas Safe registered, No need for the extra expense of Scottish Gas.
