Whitehill gym

Hi, does anyone know if the gym here is worth going too? I last used this one around 4 years ago and found it to be very small with limited equipment. Has there been any sort of upgrade or refurbishment to this gym in that time?
Thanks.

Hi
I went along to the gym a few weeks ago just before christmas, and i had a very pleasant surprise, all the equipment is newish, state of the art, an instructor will go over most of the equipment, the gym is now situated upstairs before i think it was situated on the ground floor, you had to access it via the pool, i would recommend you go along for a visit i think you will be impressed.

I use it all the time. The classes that are run are great. Spin, Metafit, Bodypump, Body Attack, Body Combat, Pilates, Circuits, CX Worx, Zumba they even run an outdoor bootcamp (although I think this may be stopping) Compared to other sites - Easterhouse, North Woodside you really do have the pick of them. The gym has a couple of each treadmill, rower, cross trainers and resistance machines and dumbells if you do not want to go to classes. If you are a member you can also use Haghill which has its own classes and gym too. I also use Tollcross and the Emirates. Please note I do not have any connection to the council but with all the negativity surrounding facilties nowadays thought I would shout out about something good on our doorstep.

Sounds like the Whitehill gym aren't doing enough marketing!
e.g.an ad in the Evening times or a better website!
Im sure a lot of people will be keen to join something as the Commonwealth games draws closer!

Always which they would paint the exterior from that dark brown colour! Brightening it up a bit would make it more attractive and draw in more people! Make it look a bit more modern as well!

With Haghill, Tollcross, and the Emirates getting a mention alongside Whitehill... don't forget Crownpoint (formerly known as the East End Healthy Living Centre). It's a great facility with a gym, classes, running track and football pitches. All the details are at www.glasgowlife.org.uk/sport/glasgow-club
And did you know you can have a go on the Velodrome? A one hour session costs a few pennies over £10 (just over £7 for concessions and juniors). All equipment is provided (bike, shoes, helmet) - nothing more than regular sports kit needed (long sleeved top advisable). Great fun and highly recommended. Info at www.emiratesarena.co.uk/velodrome/new-rider
As above, I've no vested interest - just someone keen to see East Enders get the most out of what we've got on our doorstep. I'd hate to see any of these venues scaled back or closed down due to under-use.
