Lidl's response is that it closed on January 5th for 6 weeks, which means it should be open in about two weeks.

Think I read somewhere it would be within the next 3-4 weeks

Anyone have any idea of the opening date? Â I would try to contact Lidl but don't see any details on their website.

I see it as a challenge to pack as fast as possible, strategically placing things that need weighed to slow down check out person lol

I was told off too. I was told an alarm would sound if my basket went through the check out past the till. I know all these stores have this system but it really does mean that I won't shop in them despite being better in every way from the big retailers.

D.winton this is something every Lidl and Aldi do. I just chuck it back in the till and pack at the side. It is annoying though!

"I hope this means they'll change the ridiculous system of being unable to pack your shopping at the checkout."
I really hate that too. I got "told off" for not putting my basket back at the top of the check out. How dare I!

I hope this means they'll change the ridiculous system of being unable to pack your shopping at the checkout. I found it so inconvenient that I stopped using the store despite them being best on price and stock.

extending it. If you google correctly you will find the plans for the extension on the glasgow council website. Seems it will double in size.

It was to be closed for 6 weeks so probably another 3-4 weeks?
