Park Management Rules

I'd like to draw attention to the consultation Glasgow Council are holding on their proposed new park management rules. A PDF file can be downloaded from the Council website, and it's easily turned up by search engine.
Responses to the consultation have to be submitted by Friday, and it's my view that there are many ill-conceived draconian rules intended to target particular issues that have far wider implications. Among the elements I disagree with are numerous instances of requiring written permission from the Executive Director of Land and Environmental Services to use the park for activities. Rather than rant on, I'd urge people to take a look at the consultation document and make up their own minds. It'll be far harder to complain when the rules are in place than it is to make objections known now.

Their 'consultation period' finishes 14/02/14, so write to them directly at les@glasgow.gov.uk to raise objections.

Oh, good grief. Â Have they really nothing better to do with their day. Â There are already laws in place to stop people drinking in public places, hardly enforced in Alexandra Park, is it?

Asking for permission isn't a new thing. "Park Rangers" seem intent of moving groups of five people away from playing football on the grass in Glasgow Green during the Summer. Often quite cheekily too.
