Is my memory deceiving me, or was there a keeper for the swingpark in Edmund St in the late 50's? Anyone know?

Richmond Park still had one until about 2002. I remember them locking the doors around 5pm and everybody rushing out. I remember if you walked past around 8am, the gates would all be locked.

Yes they had an attendant, he had a hut in the middle of the play ground, used to have great fun, also a fountain when you were thirsty this swing park was there in the forties

Thanks Concerned. I thought I remembered an attendant. I think he used to have a little hut;  and I seem to remember that he locked the gates round about 5pm----although that seems too early for Summer nights. Maybe they were open later then. I can't remember.

Yeah, all of the local parks in the East End years ago had a guy minding them.
