Good meeting of DCC last night at the Gingerbread Hall.

Community Police provided an update on response to housebreaking incidents in area, advised on crime prevention measures and provided free 'purse bells' (used as a deterrent against pick-pockets) for wider distribution.

We also discussed:

- DCC input to draft Neighbourhood Management Action Plan for the ward (with dog fouling and improved streetscape identified as priorities).
- DCC response to consultation on Council's Parks Management Rules.
- Planning and licensing issues (including need to clarify requirements for shop unit development and/or change of use).
- Update on the 'Days Out in Dennistoun' walking map and app (see separate message to be posted shortly).
- Update on the 'Duke Street Audit' and proposal for community consultation (further info will be posted shortly).
- Partnership work with Glasgow Centre for Population Health on 'Representing Communities' research.
- Update on the 'East End Social' music event planned for Duke Street on 31st May.

Linked to the East End Social, DCC members also agreed to have a Big Lunch event on early afternoon of 31st May preceded by a Big Clean-up earlier that morning. Please see separate messages regarding the Big Lunch and the Big Clean-up events.

Minutes of the 11th March meeting will be posted on DCC website once approved at our next meeting on Tuesday 8th April (7pm-9pm at Gingerbread Hall). 'Public input' is a standing item on agenda so come along for a cuppa and an opportunity to meet your community council representatives.
