Big Lunch event, Saturday 31st May

As a complement to the East End Social's 'Duke Street Expo 2014' event, Dennistoun Community Council (DCC) has agreed to co-ordinate, support or otherwise promote Big Lunch activities on that day.
The Big Lunch initiative was started a few years ago by the Eden Project. The aim is to get people to have lunch with their neighbours annually on (or around) the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.
Last year almost 4 million people took to their streets, gardens and community spaces for the fifth annual Big Lunch. More info at www.thebiglunch.com/
A Big Lunch can be anything from a few neighbours getting together in the garden or on the street, to a full blown street party with food, music and decoration. This is the aspiration for the Dennistoun Big Lunch on 31st May.
DCC has previously staged a couple of successful Big Lunch events in Dennistoun and feedback was very positive. It would be good to get an idea of local support for a Big Lunch 2014 event on 31st May.

A community council engaging with the community? Radical!
Just moved to Denistoun from Partick and liking the community vibe. Dont know my neighbours so well but will support anything happening in my area. I'm a musician so any plans for this kind of input to lunch?
