Goodbye and thank you

6 years ago I moved to Dennistoun, swearing I would live here for 2 years tops. Â 6 years later, 3 cats, 1 wedding, 1 baby, and many new friends later it is time for us to move to pastures new and do that cliche thing of moving to suburbia.
I am going to be so sad to leave this fantastic place, yes it needs a bloody good clean and the dog poo drives me nuts, but it is a place of colourful, friendly fantastic people, and for me the best neighbours you could ever ask for. Â So close to everything, onto all the motorways with ease. Â I have a huge place in my heart for Alexandra Park. Â Many hours of the last 9 months (and also those with a big pregnant belly) have been spent pushing my baby in her pram, and what a lovely place it is, a true gem in the heart of such a busy place.
While I love Dennistoun I do believe it has never quite made it to its full potential and hope that the future brings good things to such a great place. Â I look forward to returning to visit with my little girl to show her where she was born.
The thank you goes to everyone on here. Â I have written many posts, answered many posts and read very many posts on here, it is a great forum that reflects the community that exists within Dennistoun.
So I wish you all goodbye, thank you, and ask that you keep making Dennistoun the great place it is!
x

Nice post, MC. I feel much the same about Dennistoun even though it is quite a while since I lived there. It has changed a lot over the years, not always for the best, but it is still changing and, while there are good people there who want it to be a good place to live, there is a chance that it will some day reach its full potential. Meantime, good luck with your move.
