Hi, could anyone recommend a reputable company to install a dampcourse to my old house . I believe it has sandstone walls and was constructed prior to such things being installed as standard. Have not noted any rising damp but flat smells damp . thanks

Think the first thing you need is a survey to determine if there is any damp, if so what's causing it and then recommendations as to how you remedy it and repair any affected areas - Â don't know if they're the cheapest but have found that Wise are reliable to get out for their initial thoughts and a survey.
But before you do that, have you thought of just getting a dehumidifier and running that for a week or so? Would be cheaper than getting a survey and might remedy the problem that could just be down to condensation.
