Buildings insurance

Hi folks,
Me and my gf are looking to buy in dennistoun and we are now at the insurance phase. Can anyone provide any light as to what insurance companies they use? We are looking to buy on Finlay drive and the building has had some previous movement and repairs as quoted in the home report. But naturally, all insurance companies are shying away as soon as you mention the word "movement".

If it's historical it shouldn't matter. AA are good.

Check whether your close has a communal insurance for all flats and whether it might be organised via your factors (if you have any). Ask other owners in your close what they do about insurance. They're likely to have had the same issues and can give advice which companies gave them reasonable quotes.

Building insurance premiums have went through the roof in Finlay Drive, and particularly the Dennistoun Village area. This is mostly due to the fire in Hillfoot Street last year. The owners at Dennistoun Village have seen their premiums double, as only one insurance company was prepared to offer cover.
Really worried another incident will push premiums though the roof. There was also a fire incident in Finlay Drive a few days after the Hillfoot Street fire too. Vandalism is a real problem in that particular area.
