please can someone take over the lease on the Duke, which is being advertised it's got the potential to be a great pub, great size, layout, just needs a refresh... decent menu, windows.. bit like Redmonds ?

i know hate to see this pub close and more people losing their jobs. its awful

There was some interesting news stories on Monday regarding the ending of the beer tie system.

its owned by a very large holding company now, taking it over would mean leasing it from them and using all their brewery tie-ins etc. making it a decent independent pub would be pretty much impossible.
