Comedy Nights at Drygate

I've friends visiting next week and had thought about going to the late Friday night comedy club at Drygate. I'm presuming it's held in the function space behind the upper bar. Is anyone able to offer feedback on any of the previous sessions?

Hi corky, did you ever go to this? We have booked up to go with friends for an Xmas night out.

Steve, not yet made it - the plan was to go to the later performance this evening. I do like Drygate but was hoping to get feedback on what the function space was like for comedy (I've only seen gigs there).

Hi,
I've been four times now, but I've only been to the earlier showing at 7:30pm. Most of the comedians have been great and provide good laughs. You are right it's in the function space. I think the later showing may be a little busier because sometimes when I've gone to the early showing it's been quite quiet, a alot of empty tables. The compere is also always funny and gets the crowd going. They do table service so you don't have to leave your seat for a drink while the show's on. I'd definitely recommend it :)!

Nicole, thanks for the feedback. We didn't make it last Friday but will try to catch a show there sometime over the next month.

The late night showing was pretty quiet as well but it was a great laugh nonetheless. It's a bit of a hit or miss regarding the standard of comedian but there's 3 stand up acts so you're bound to get a decent one. If you go for a meal before it then you also get 15% off the meal. And with over 400 beers to choose from what's not to like! I personally would rather give my £ to a potential rising star instead of these big names who some of them get their material written for them.
