Students

I asked about this issue a while back but the situation has become worse. We have students in two of the flats in our close. While being perfectly pleasant to talk to, they and their guests are driving the rest of us crazy. Repeated 4 and 5 am noisy parties, door slamming, buzzer ringing, scrawling graffiti on the close walls, broken bucky bottles in the bin area and now a broken close door with a big footprint on it. Police have come round countless times, factor has been contacted and they've passed on a letter to the owners last week but it's still happening. Has anyone experienced what the anti social behaviour dept at GCC is like? Is it worth it? Any advice welcome

If they rent, tell their agency! Part of the bog standard contract is to be reasonable to your neighbours, the owners wont care because at the end of the day they are just looking for their rent money. They may seem nice, but the fact they are doing this makes them just as bad as any other anti-social behaviour participants.
Have you knocked on other neighbours doors to ask how they feel? if their smashing in doors, it's not the person who did it who ends up paying but everyone else who pays factors!
What road is this on?

Hi there, we had a similar problem few years back. The landlord have a duty to make sure that their tenants behave sociably, the best way to put pressure on them is to get the landlord details and report that they are not doing their job. Link below can tell you details of the flats registered landlord, if they're not registered then it's probably worth reporting this also. Two birds one stone.
