Soup kitchen/food bank volunteering??

Hi all, does anyone know of any soup kitchens or food banks, preferably in local area? My girlfriend and I are looking to offer our time and help, especially over Christmas where possible. I know there's a couple places running in city centre, but thought I'd try find out if any in East End could use some volunteers?

Hi John from DCC here, The Everlasting Food Bank operates from the church in Whitehill St.They run on the 1st Saturday of each month which would be this Saturday 6th Dec.I'm sure they are always looking for volunteers.You can check them out on their facebook page or google them on their website The Everlasting Food Bank Glasgow.

Might be worthwhile getting in touch with the Lodging House Mission in East Campbell Street (down near the Barras). They offer a variety of services for homeless people and I'm pretty sure they are open right through the festive season.

The everlasting food bank will also be open on the 20th of this month to help people near christmas. That time of year hits people hardest and we want to ensure people have food for christmas.
