road works in Armadale street

Does anyone know what's going on with the temporary traffic lights and road signs at armadale street/ingleby drive.
they just sprang up overnight, there are no workmen there, no work being done and no-one seems to know what's being fixed/repaired, some people have said maybe the are replacing some of the blocked drains but no-one knows for sure.

No idea but they're causing chaos. I live right beside them and there was no notice or opportunity to move our cars etc.
Again I didn't see any workmen... just a lot of cars that couldn't get through!

I heard it was something to do with broadband cables

BT Openreach broadband, by the looks of it.
You can check the Scottish Road Works Register at www.roadworksscotland.org/mapsearch.aspx
Infrastructure work in a dense urban environment like Dennistoun will inevitably lead to some sort term disruption. Rough with the smooth, though, eh?

I wonder when they are actually going to start work, they have had the traffic lights up for about a week now with no indication of when they are going to start/finish the upgrade

There were signs all over the lamp posts giving fair warning of the works being carried out....
