Back garden mess

Hi all, just wondering if any other people are having problems with rubbish being dumped in their back gardens? I live in marwick street at haghill and. It's got to the stage that I keep my curtains in the back bedroom closed due to the unsightly mess out the back! Should I contact Glasgow city council about this? It is a pile of the gardens out back so not just one! Cheers in advance

The link above is for reporting to the Clean Glasgow. I have reported two issues, one was to do with the rubbish along the Milerston Street, they came and collected all the rubbish fairly quickly.

Now I'm bothering them about cleaning the Clyde riverbanks out of rubbish - it's truly disgusting to look at it. They're saying they will do it within the next 2 weeks, we'll see :)

You can contact Clean Glasgow about any complaints to do with rubbish been dumped, the more reports there are in an area then they will send more patrols round to check on it.

I would email your local Councillors and the head of that Department at GCC.  I had to do this for my bins and eventually it got sorted.

Perhaps a group from the close should go down and clean it up.    At least it would be proactive.

I have tweeted Glasgow City council on numerous occasions. They generally do not reply or respond with an unhelpful diplomatic answer. I just hope the situation improves before summer. The stench could become unbearable.

Contact environmental Health. They will visit, look and send a warning to all closes to get it sorted, or the council will sort it for them and charge them per home.

To be honest, There was no way I was going to clean everyone elses rubbish covered in rat pee, and was happy to pay to have it fixed.

Thanks for your reply Sanjay! My  wife now refuses to take our  rubbish out to the bin in fear of rats... So yet another job left for me to do. I think I might take some pictures of the mess and send an email to Glasgow council or perhaps a tweet? Thanks again

I too stay in Marwick Street. The mess out the back is truly disgusting. I assume the bin men feel it's too much to collect the loose rubbish that has not been disposed of properly. Best move would be to contact the council. Surprised rats haven't appeared yet!
