Where did you hear that from? I found a couple of articles online that claim they're cancelling the opening of a new store in Glasgow, but nothing to say they're closing any existing ones.
The articles are from January though so I suppose things could have changed since then.

It's pretty busy. I can't see them closing it. However, I can see Morrison's closing. Too expensive for the same stuff. I wish they'd open a Sainsbury locally. Or is the east end not good enough?

Perhaps Sainsbury will takeover Morrison's..there are rumours of someone taking over. Market forces it seems.

There's talk of a Sainsbury opening somewhere in the East End. I don't know where though. My partner did work for Sainsburys recently and was told there was be work available for the one opening here.
I work for Tesco (not the branch) There was a list of the ones being closed, this was also in the press and it didn't mention the Parkhead one. I don't think its particularly busy though. // Tesco has def got cheaper recently. Lets hope they keep the prices down.

Tesco Parkhead Retail Park is doing extremely well. So,As a loyal local shopper and in my opinion ,It will continue to thrive and serve the people.

It will be busier when everyone moves in to the Commonwealth games village area.

I have a family member who works there and they are demoting a lot of staff e.g. From supervisor back to customer service assistant but with a cash incentive. So no they aren't closing but trying to save money I guess.

tescos rutherglen is closer to most of the commonwealth games village, and asda for the top end.

I like it because it's nice and quiet but I did half expect to see it in the list of closures. I can't imagine it's been a big success for Tesco, just not enough people using it.

Knock it down. Build some affordable houses.
There's an Asda on one side, a Morrisons on the other, Lidl etc nearby, too, and Tescos in Rutherglen AND Springburn already.

Tesco is there to stay........ especially when they eventually get permission to build a petrol station ....... after the ones on Alexandra Parade close down.

I was wondering what happened with the petrol station. As I'm classed as a neighbour of the retail park I get updates on what's being built etc. I got a letter years ago saying they were planning on a petrol station.

Aye. Would be no surprise to see a Tesco petrol station application before very long. Oh well.

Where would the proposed Tesco petrol station be? Once the high rise flats come down, maybe there?

H, no that space is going to be used for more new flats.

Just like they done up at St Rollox, they will place it in the massive car park.
