parkrun - Tollcross

I'm involved in organising Tollcross parkrun, a free, weekly 5k that takes place in the East End of Glasgow. There are four in total in Glasgow (the others are in Pollok, Victoria and Springburn) and welcome people of every ability.
I live in Dennistoun, and there a few people from the area that come along. We are all dead friendly and supportive - and you can register at www.parkrun.org.uk
A few folk from the run have started running together in Dennistoun too - if you are interested in finding out more www.facebook.com/tollcrossparkrun

As another Dennistonian (Dennistonite?) who enjoys Tollcross parkrun I want to repeat the fact that it is an incredibly supportive run for people of all abilities. There are folk there who sprint around at inspiring speeds, and there are also many of us who are just happy to make it a full 5K in one piece. If you have just started running it is a great way to gauge your progress week on week.
The atmosphere at a parkrun is friendly and relaxed. Everything is run by volunteers from marshaling the course, to manning the finishing line, getting your timed results up online and baking cake for when we all finish.
I see lots of people running in Ally Park; more now that the weather is getting better (ha!) and it would be great to have some of them discover Tollcross Park as well - a bit of a hidden gem.
I am not one of the organisers (Hi Stuart!), but I do sometimes volunteer, and it is as rewarding as running the park.
