Hi,I live on Alexandra Parade and have noticed today that the Seat garage is in the process of being closed down. The petrol station next door closed recently. Does anyone know what is happening to this bit of land?

The BP garage is also closing to be replaced by 36 flats. I don't have a car but would guess that would put a few locals out. The plan is approved subject to vehicle entry which was going to be via Lloyd Street but local objections stopped that. Unfortunately we could not stop the trees adjacent to the site being lost. Shame as they are really nice when in blossom.

Just what Dennistoun needs - more flats!  What a shame about the trees.  We need more not less in Dennistoun.

I heard it was the spare ground next to the BP Garage and that the garage would remain open I presume.

Planning application ref: 14/01943/DC
Site plan shows development on both the vacant site and garage.

Better use of this site and the closed garage and SEAT showroom would be car parking for City Parks so surrounding streets are not full of its workers cars every week day.

There are going to be more flats built soon on the site of the old Parade pub. All my neighbours got the letter and proposed plans in today. Fortunately they are providing some parking spaces so it won't affect us too much it's already hard to get parked near your home between people attending the doctors surgery or going to the local cafe's etc or when folk from other peripheral areas park their cars and get the bus into town its just really frustrating but do we really need MORE flats!!!

Regarding the site of the current BP petrol station, Councillor Russell Robertson assured the community council at our meeting in March that the planning application was approved conditional on no access from Lloyd Street and all trees remaining.
