My great grandparents lived in Edmund Sreet Dennistoun around 1920. Can anyone tell me what it is called now as I can't find it on any maps

Edmund St is no longer there. The streets were reconfigured when the old tenements were pulled down I think.

The street map section explains that it made way to the Ladywell area along with other streets now lost. If you click on Cardross Street, Ladywell is to the left.

You'll find it on this map running between Ark Lane and Cardross st.: maps.nls.uk/view/91790175
So the estate was built on the site and the street no longer exists.

Sadly no longer exists. We lived there from 1969 until 1972, when it was condemned

I don't remember a scrap yard Martin. Was that on the high side of Edmund St---maybe across from the swing park?

I lived also at 15 edmund street until 1972 I remember the scrap yard and the large dog I used to pet it through the fence, I use to play at the top of ark lane on the rocks near the cemetry.

Hi Martin, I was brought up in the first close in Ark Lane round the corner from Edmund St. and lived there until the early 60,s. with a window that looked onto the yard your talking about. During my time, the yard you refer to was occupied by Scott's the joiners. I guess he must have retired. Interesting to hear how things changed after I moved.

Hi Allan,
The one thing that never changed was the smell of Tennents Brewery. I moved to live in East Anglia in 1980 but even to this day I still remember that smell.
