Knitting group?

I know there was a knitting group in the area a while back and I wondered if it was still on the go? I didn't go to the original one, but I'd be keen to come along if there are any now. Thanks.

I was in the Library the other day and saw a poster for a knitting group. Sorry, can't remember the details, but failing that...
A Dennistoun-based informal knitting and crochet group.

"An informal meet up of knitters and crochet folk of all levels aimed at getting us motivated to start or finish off any wooly projects, share tips and patterns. Help available to show the basics with loan of knitting needles, crochet hooks and books available on the night for anyone looking for ideas."
They have used various venues in the past, so it's probably best to get in touch directly to check what the latest arrangements are.

They also have a Ravelry group at www.ravelry.com/groups/urban-crochet--knits - if you don't have a Ravelry account, it's highly recommended that you consider signing up, as it plays host to a community of useful yarn, textile and and craft resources with links to local groups (and beyond!).

Wow, thanks for all that info, resident!
I've had a look at the Facebook page and it seems the local group isn't as active now.
I am currently knitting for a charity called Knit for Peace, and I have some spare wool and knitting needles if anyone in the area is interested in taking part and could use them. Knit for Peace are looking for crocheted items too.
I could post the needles and wool off to other groups, but I thought I'd try here first.
