Dennistoun in New Zealand

Are any aware that in NZ ,west coast to be exact ,there is a small town with coal mines named after Dennistoun in Scotland , it is not that busy now but in the past it was a hive of industry .

There is a book called Dennistoun Rose which depicts life in the mine on the early days of the Dennistoun mine on the west of the South Island.
