Dennistoun Palais cloakroom

This is one for anyone who went to the Dennistoun Palais in the 1960's though it probably applies to other times as well. I'm wondering what the girls did with their handbags. Did they put them in the cloakroom with their coats? I've no recollection of doing this yet I can't see me or anyone else with a handbag on the dance floor. I'm wondering what I did with my money if I checked my bag in. Anyone out there with a clearer memory than mine?
