Golfhill Gardens get Community Makeover

Golfhill Care Home in Dennistoun received a visit from a wonderful team of volunteers from Coop this week to lend a hand in their gardens.

Volunteers from Coop Foodstore, Coop Community Pioneers and Coop Funeralcare who all  joined forces with their hard working gardener, Sinead, and friend of the Care Home, Gary, whose mum previously lived at Golfhill.

The end result is an overgrown area has now been cleared and transformed to give the Residents a pleasant and bright outdoor space to enjoy.

Everyone had great fun with a lot of smiles and laughter along the way and the Residents joined in too and painted some new bird boxes to dot around the area and attract some feathered friends.

Gardener Sinead said "We have beautiful gardens at Golfhill but they grow so quickly over the Summer months and to get some assistance from the volunteers was amazing.

The Residents loved being out watching us work and they really enjoy being outdoors, their smiles said it all.

I can't thank the team enough for giving up their time and doing such a fantastic job"

Coop Member Pioneer, Claire, said "It was an absolute pleasure to join an amazing group of people to help transform the garden.

It was done with a lot of hardwork and a bit of hilarity along the way!"
