Meadowpark Centre Festive Project
A Glasgow-based charity that has been helping the local community for over 40 years has announced its intention to provide some much-needed relief in the form of food parcels.
A spokesperson for the charity said, ‘Meadowpark Centre has always strived tirelessly to help those in and around the Dennistoun area. Whether that be providing shelter, clothing, food, or a friend to talk too, the charity has always been focused on supporting people.
This year we want to reach out beyond those who come through our doors. Right now no matter where you are or what you do, there is no escaping the shortages of food, utilities, and even the pound. That's why our volunteers have vouched to get as many food parcels as we physically can to those most in need with our festive project.’
The centre has already seen support for the project with donations from AG Barrs, Morrisons, and Sainburys to name a few, and a local donation drop-off point will be available at the Centre on selected days from November 14th.
If you would like to contribute donations in the form of dried food, canned foods, cereals, or baby food / products would be most welcome.
Meadowpark Centre will open for donation at 41 Meadowpark Street, Dennistoun on Mondays and Thursdays from 14th November from 12 pm until 2 pm. Food parcels will be available for collection in the week before Christmas. With a home delivery for those unable to collect from the centre.
